1949

Bergstrom Inc. is founded with a vision to create reliable and efficient climate control solutions. They start by developing innovative heaters for buses and school buses.

1989

Bergstrom expands its global reach with the opening of a facility in Birmingham, UK, serving the construction, agriculture, and niche automotive markets.

1998

Bergstrom establishes a manufacturing presence in China with the opening of a plant in Changzhou, expanding its global manufacturing footprint.

2000

Bergstrom acquires Kysor-Westran, significantly expanding its product offerings and entering the parts market.

2013

Bergstrom acquired Dirna S.A, a Spanish company specializing in HVAC and air conditioning systems. They offer products such as autonomous electric air conditioning systems, evaporative systems that do not require the engine to be turned on.

2014

Bergstrom introduces the Standard Products division, offering customized climate control systems tailored to meet specific customer needs.

2020

Bergstrom expands its manufacturing capabilities in North America with the opening of a new plant in Monterrey, Mexico.

2023

Bergstrom further strengthens its Mexican presence with the opening of a plant in Leon, dedicated to the production of wire harnesses and other critical electrical assemblies.

2025

Bergstrom expands the U.S. manufacturing with new facility in Houston, TX. This state-of-the-art facility will focus on producing advanced thermal management systems tailored for the growing stationary energy storage market.

Our history

Bergstrom’s strategic investment in Monterrey, Mexico includes two premier manufacturing facilities engineered for excellence. Our specialized Plant 1 focuses on advanced microchannel heat exchangers and precision HVAC assemblies, while Plant 2, located just five miles away, is dedicated to high-quality copper tube and fin heat exchangers.
This integrated campus, bolstered by Mexico’s ideal geographic position, allows us to foster deeper collaboration with customers and provides unparalleled efficiency in manufacturing, logistics, and after-sales support.
